Company History

1994:
•  Company is formed under the name Stella Interactive. Founded by Dick Beedon, the company developed 6 interactive CD-ROM products, outlining the football history for the following schools: Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, USC and Penn State.

1995:
•  In December, made the strategic decision to move to an Internet-based business model, delivering sports information on a university basis through an "Official Athletic Site."

1996:
•  Company changed its name to University Netcasting Inc. in August
•  Investors who helped re-launch the business included the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), as well as iXL Enterprises.
•  First university contract with Cal-Berkeley was signed in June.
•  The first Official Athletic Site, built for the University of Southern California (www.usctrojans.com), was launched on August 1.
•  University Netcasting launched six Official Athletic Sites in the fall of 1996: Notre Dame, Cal-Berkeley, USC, Arizona, Maryland and Texas Tech.
•  For the year, the FANSonly Network served 1,927,143 page views.

1997:
•  At the beginning of the 1997-98 academic year, the network had grown to 28 properties.
•  FANSonly.com was launched as a destination for college sports fans as well as a marketing platform to promote the Official Athletic Site network.
•  University Netcasting executes the GTE Road Trip, an integrated online/offline program. Lycos also promoted the 12-stop tour, featuring FANSonly Network schools.
•  University Netcasting enters into an agreement with Bradley Specialty Retailing for development of an online store initiative.
•  In November, University Netcasting's proprietary, internal publishing system, called Netitor, was launched for internal production use.
•  For the year, the FANSonly Network served 38,221,656 page views.

1998:
•  FANSonly establishes the marketing manager position, providing a day-to-day business contact for network partners.
•  In April, USC became the first university to use Netitor to post content directly onto its Official Athletic Site.
•  In July, FANSonly announces a marketing partnership with CBS Sportsline on behalf of network properties.
•  At the beginning of the 1998-99 academic year, the network had grown to 43 properties.
•  San Diego State becomes the first network partner to agree to pay FANSonly an annual production fee in addition to the revenue sharing model.
•  In September, initial user registration data base was launched to track individual user information.
•  In October, University Netcasting launches its first online merchandise store under its current "FANStore" model, partnering with the Double T Shop at Texas Tech.
•  For the year, the FANSonly Network served 99,586,645 page views.

1999:
•  On June 18, University Netcasting Inc. officially merges with Student Advantage Inc. The FANSonly Network becomes an operating division of Student Advantage Inc.
•  At the beginning of the 1999-2000 academic year, the network had grown to 62 properties.
•  FANSonly establishes a relationship with ESPN.com to provide exposure for its properties. As part of that arrangement, FANSonly begins providing live game audio services to its partners.
•  FANSonly established a relationship with Microsoft Windows Media Player, providing a no-cost solution for audio and video encoding to complement Official Athletic Site content.
•  For the year, the FANSonly Network served 204,625,141 page views.

2000:
•  FANSonly launches first hosted online auction program with the University of Miami in April.
•  At the beginning of the 2000-01 academic year, the network had grown to 79 properties.
•  FANSonly introduces school-specific email newsletter product, delivered in multiple formats with the ability to track user information and click-thru statistics.
•  FANSlive, a proprietary interface featuring real-time data from the official statistics computers at various game locations, was introduced for the football season.
•  FANSeats, an online ticketing program utilizing the FANSonly e-commerce engine, was launched in August at two network partners - Lafayette and Toledo.
•  For the year, the FANSonly Network served 401,234,340 page views.

2001:
•  FANSonly partners with CampRegister.com to launch FANScamps, an online sports camp registration and management system.
•  In May, the FANSonly Network served its 1 billionth page view to consumers.
•  At the beginning of the 2001-02 academic year, the network had grown to 121 properties.
•  In August, the Netitor publishing system posts its 500,000th document.
•  FANSonly announces agreement with Yahoo! to provide marketing distribution and streaming services to the FANSonly Network partners.

2002:
•  U-Wire, the exclusive syndication partner for more than 600 campus newspapers and owned by Student Advantage Inc., is moved to the FANSonly Network division.
•  FANSonly announces it is rebranding its business to the Official College Sports Network (OCSN).
•  OCSN announces the offering of OAS Basic, an Official Athletic Site management and hosting solution designed for the majority of NCAA member institution athletic departments.
•  Adelphi University becomes the first partner under the OAS Basic model.
•  At the beginning of the 2002-03 academic year, the network had grown to 136 properties.
